What does unity look like?

This is a picture of a hydrangea with one blue part

Unity can look like this – it’s not the same as uniformity.

We might assume that unity requires us to become like eachother.

What a lovely reminder that it’s OK to be different!

It's tempting to judge ourselves or others - we might think being different prevents someone belonging, like the blue in the hydrangea bloom, but that doesn’t hold true.

Our perceptions as humans seek out difference.

Vision seeks the contrast, the edges, and so on.

That’s how we navigate our physical bodies through life.

Our perceptions only tell a partial story, and the whole is much more exciting!

Another reminder from nature is when new buds and flowers appear on a bush that's losing its leaves for autumn! One sign of the season is no better than another. The whole is bound together.

The apple tree is capable of blossom even when the fruit are forming. There is unity even when life ushers forth different stages together.

If we seek out unity with acceptance and authenticity it can be found in surprising ways.
